~ After Hatsubasho~

Kaio will be concentrating on taking care of his physical condition as usual and will continue to do his best .

He thanks you for your support.

The comments after Hatsubasho from the "Wakaishu" are as follows.

<Kaishoryu>

I wanted to win one more bout... I will be doing more keiko and will be preparing myself to move on the dohyo with more confidence. I will be aiming for 5 wins in Osaka.

<Kaishinho>

I had a strong fighting spirit in Hatsubasho because it was the first basho of the year. However, after I got my first win, I lost 4  straight bouts . I was thinking too much and I couldn't control my movements. I will try my best in Osaka and aim for Kachikoshi!!!

<Kainowaka>

I had two consecutive wins and then lost three consecutive bouts… I managed to get Kachikoshi but I couldn’t do my own sumo. I will do a lot of keiko  and I aim to do my sumo with confidence. I appreciate your support.

<Kaisei>

I am happy with my result of 6-1 in Hatsubasho. I will try my best to get at least 6 wins and will be aiming for 7 straight wins in Osaka.

<Kainohama>

My rehabilitation has been going well. I have been going to a gym as well. I have been recovering from my injury  day by day and I think I can participate at the hon-basho in Osaka.

<Kaisenryu>

I am happy with my  Hatsubasho record of 5-2. I am aimng for Kachikoshi again next basho.

<Kainomiya>

From 2-1, I lost 4straight bouts. I regret my record in Hatsubasho. In Osaka, I will try to win every bout. I appreciate your support.

<Kainofuji>

I was in good shape for my first two bouts in Hatsubasho, but I injured my neck in my third bout, then  lost four straight  . I will be in good condition by next basho and will be aiming for Kachikoshi.

<Kainoryu>

At first, I was a bit nervous because I lost my first two bouts. However, I didn’t give up and got my Kachikoshi, so the end result was not so bad. I always lose my first bout each basho, so I am bracing myself to win the first bout and aiming for Kachikoshi again.

I want to get Kachikoshi in at least three basho out of six basho. I am doing a lot of  keiko and training for that.

<Kainokura>

I am happy with my record of 5-2 in Hatsubasho. I will try NOT to go back to Jonokuchi and am aiming for the higher ranks.

Now, the comments from the Wakaishu….!!

<Kaishoryu>

* About Kyushu-basho:

I had always managed to get Kachikoshi in Kyushu, but I couldn’t get one this year as I lost four straight bouts …

The last three straight wins encouraged me to move on to Hatsubasho!

* About this year:

I was injured in Hatsubasho, which made it a difficult year for me.  I will try to get the best winning score among our rikishi next year!

<Kainohama>

* About this year:

It was so regrettable that I couldn’t fight in Kyushu at my highest rank.  Now, I am doing rehabilitation so that I can get back on the dohyo as soon as possible.

Then, I will try to reach my highest rank again as soon as possible!!

<Kainowaka>

* About Kyushu-basho:

I, again, got makekoshi….  Shame on me!!!  I will try my best to accumulate many ☆!next year!!

* About this year:

My record was not so good throughout this year.  I want to get Kachikoshi in all 6 basho!

Thank you for your support!

<Kaishinho>

* About Kyushu-basho:

I got Kachikoshi 4-3, again!  I got Kachikoshi for two straight basho at my highest rank.  I will try my best to get Kachikoshi continuously next year.

* About this year

It was a fruitful year for me. I will do more training and more keiko, and I want to turn 2008 into a great year for me.

<Kaisei>

* About Kyushu-basho:

I went Makekoshi with 3-4.  I will do more training and more keiko, and I want to get Kachikoshi next basho.

* About this year:

I climbed up the ranks smoothly in the first half, but Sandamme was a huge wall to climb.  I aim to move up to Makushita next year!

<Kaisenryu>

* About this year:

I got Kachikoshi in only  two basho….  I will get Kachikoshi in at least three basho next year.

<Kainomiya>

* About this year:

In March, I made “Ichiban-shusse”, and it was a good start.  However, from May, my record ended with 14 wins 14 losses…. I was not satisfied with my record.  I will try my best to get more wins and less losses.

* Hope for the new year

I will make a new keiko regimen.  I want to build up my body  so that I won’t get injured. I want to aim for 5 or 6 wins in each basho.

<Kainofuji>

* About Kyushu basho:

I first got two straight wins, so I thought I would be able to get Kachikoshi,.but, I lost the next five straight bouts ….

I regret that I was too easy -going…  I will try my best to get Kachikoshi next basho.

* About this year:

Since I became a rikishi in March, I have had kachikoshi for only one basho.  I want to get Kachikoshi at least in three basho in the new year.

<Kainokura>

* About Kyushu-basho

I did good keiko before the basho and I did move smoothly in keiko, but  I couldn’t move enough on the dohyo in hon-basho… I want to get used to fighting in hon-basho, and I want to expose my full energy  during the basho.

* About this year:

I was injured a lot… so I want to build my body up and stay healthy.

<Kainoryu>

* About Kyushu-basho:

I thought I would be able to get a good result before the basho, but I lost my self confidence whenever I did keiko with Anideshi…therefore, I went Makekoshi in the end….  I lost three straight bouts from Shonichi, but then I won two straight … then, I thought I might be able to….  Then, I went makekoshi…  I think it was my weak point, so I want to strengthen myself mentally .

* About this year:

I got Kachikoshi in only one basho…  I will do keiko much more than the other members who joined this year and will aim to reach the best rank among them.  I want to be more responsible in my daily life – chanko…and cleaning…

<After Kyushubasho – from Takanori Tomozuna>

We, Tomozuna-beya demanded Nikkan-Sports – a Sports-Newspaper – apologize and explain regarding their articles about the “Retirement of Kaio” in the last three days.  However, unfortunately, we did not receive any proper comments from them.

The articles were absolutely not true.  There won’t be a Kaio retirement now or before Hatsubasho.

Tomozuna-beya told Nikkan-Sports  that we won’t accept any interview from them for at least 6 months from now.  They accepted our demand.

We apologize to all our supporters who were worried needlessly about this issue.  We appreciate your continued support as we try our best – Kaio as well.

I will be in good condition for Hatsubasho 2008, and I will continue to do my best.

Thank you.

Banzuke for Aki-basho was announced.

Ambition for Aki-basho

Kaio: I will try my best to join the yusho-race until the end… and I aim for “yusho”!

Kaishoryu: I have climbed up the banzuke quite a bit this basho, therefore, it might be difficult to win bouts easily, but I will do serious keiko before the basho starts, and will try my best to win one day at a time.

Kainowaka: I aim for “Kachikoshi” this basho, and want to do be in Makushita next basho (in Kyushu in November) because Kyushu is my home county.

Kaishinho: I just missed “Kachikoshi” last basho, which was regrettable.  Therefore, I will utilize my fighting spirit  this basho and aim for Sandanme after the basho.

Kaisenryu: Last basho, I went “Makekoshi”…. Therefore, I will be aiming for Kachikoshi … I am determined to have five wins at least.

Kainohama: I couldn’t fight at all the last two basho because of injury. I will try my best and will be aiming for six wins at least this basho.
